Speechyou vs. Transkriptor

## What changes when you switch?

Transkriptor is a close transcription competitor, with uploads, recording, mobile apps, summaries and integrations. Speechyou’s case is a lower annual Solo price and a broader language catalog, not a claim that Transkriptor lacks AI chat, batch uploads or MCP.

Pricing, without the guesswork

## Keep $32.99 a year.

That compares Solo at US$67 with Pro at US$99.99 on annual billing. If your needs are light, Transkriptor Lite costs less than Solo month to month; choose the plan around your volume and required AI tools.[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)

**$32.99 less a year** for Solo vs. Transkriptor Pro

Pro’s annual plan still lists a monthly 2,400-minute allowance. Lite is a different, cheaper monthly option at US$9.99 with 300 minutes. Do not interpret US$8.33/month as a month-to-month Pro offer; it is an annual equivalent. Prices checked September 13, 2026; taxes and currency conversion excluded. Different plans include different features and allowances.

### The other Transkriptor options worth comparing

Plan and service figures from the sources below. Illustrative per-file totals are arithmetic examples, not measured customer savings.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)

Your language comes first

## Find your language. Try your audio.

Transkriptor advertises transcription in more than 100 languages. Speechyou’s catalog is broader: 1,648 distinct language codes across 1,668 language/script configurations. The practical question is whether your recording’s language and writing system are available, rather than how impressive either rounded headline looks.[\[2\]](#source-competitor-product)[\[10\]](#source-languages)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

If your work is mostly a widely supported language, catalog size may make little difference to your result. Try accents, specialist names and noisy passages from a real recording. Keep transcription and translation separate: Transkriptor’s translation offering and Speechyou’s transcription catalog should not be compared as if they counted the same thing.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

[Browse all Speechyou languages](https://speechyou.com/languages)

### Find the right starting point

Speechyou offers Whisper and MultiLingual Pro. Check the catalog for your exact language and script, then test a recording.

[HebrewInterviews and conversations](https://speechyou.com/hebrew-transcription)[GermanMeetings and recorded notes](https://speechyou.com/german-transcription)[ZuluExplore broader language coverage](https://speechyou.com/zulu-transcription)[LugandaCheck your language and script](https://speechyou.com/luganda-transcription)

These are Speechyou language examples, not a claim that Transkriptor lacks all four. Language availability is not an accuracy guarantee.[\[10\]](#source-languages)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

Accuracy you can evaluate

## Bring your toughest recording.

Use the same audio in both tools. The names, numbers and speaker changes you need are a better test than a headline percentage.

1. ### Bring a real recording

Start your free trial and upload a representative interview, lecture or video. Choose the correct language in both products.

2. ### Check what matters

Listen to difficult passages. Check names, figures, quotations and speaker labels, then note the time needed to correct them.

3. ### Try the next step

Ask for a summary and verify it. Export the file you actually need and open it in your usual software before deciding.

**A fair test compares the actual products.**

Transkriptor advertises 99% accuracy. We have not established a controlled Speechyou-versus-Transkriptor result, nor verified that they use the same underlying model. Compare a real clip with the same language selected, check factual errors against the audio and include correction time. An AI summary can be useful even when it still needs to be checked.[\[2\]](#source-competitor-product)[\[13\]](#source-whisper)

### How to run a useful comparison

Keep the source file and language consistent. Record the model and processing mode where available. Compare important factual errors, speaker attribution, timestamps and time spent editing. If you calculate word error rate, use the same manually checked reference transcript. Keep translation, summarization and human proofreading separate from the raw transcription result.

Whisper research describes a model family and its limitations. It is not a score for either hosted product. We have not established a controlled head-to-head benchmark for this page.[\[13\]](#source-whisper)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

More from every recording

## Your transcript is just the start.

Compare what happens after the words appear: finding a quote, asking a question, sharing a note, or delivering the right file.

### Get answers from your recordings

Both tools can turn a transcript into a summary and let you ask questions. Speechyou includes Ask AI on Solo; Transkriptor puts AI chat, summaries and the knowledge base in Pro. Test a question that matters to your work, then check whether the answer is supported by the recording. This is a shared capability, not an exclusive advantage.[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[14\]](#source-demo)

[Try the meeting-notes workflow](https://speechyou.com/tools/meeting-notes-generator)

### Connect to the AI tools you already use

Speechyou connects compatible clients through MCP. Transkriptor also documents a ChatGPT integration, including read-only transcript retrieval, summaries and temporary PDF exports, and lists a Claude integration. Compare client support, permissions and what is retrievable from your own account before deciding which setup feels simpler.[\[16\]](#source-mcp)[\[6\]](#source-competitor-chatgpt)[\[7\]](#source-competitor-integrations)

[See Speechyou MCP setup](https://speechyou.com/mcp)

### Check the final file, not just the transcript

Speechyou exports TXT, SRT, VTT and JSON. Transkriptor lists text, Word and subtitle output on its website and documents additional PDF/JSON options through its API. Web and API features are different surfaces: test the export from the interface you intend to use, including timestamps and speaker names.[\[14\]](#source-demo)[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[4\]](#source-competitor-exports)

### Take Speechyou on the go

Record an idea between appointments, transcribe an interview and share a summary from your phone. Speechyou is available on iPhone and iPad, with a Mac app too. Check the comparison table for Transkriptor’s mobile options; compare recording, editing and export options on the devices you use.[\[15\]](#source-mobile)

[Explore the mobile app](https://speechyou.com/ios)

### Bring your bigger recordings

Speechyou Solo supports files up to 10 GB. Batch-upload recordings, organize them with tags and search, and keep the transcript alongside your notes. File size is separate from duration, storage and processing speed. Check the sourced competitor limits in the table before making a large-file decision.[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)[\[14\]](#source-demo)

[Transcribe your recordings](https://speechyou.com/transcribe-voice-memos)

### Build around your integration

Speechyou offers API access by request. Bring the team your languages, input sources, volume, output formats and latency requirements to scope the integration and commercial terms. API access is separate from Solo. The table distinguishes Transkriptor’s developer offering from its web subscription.[\[12\]](#source-api)

A closer look

## The details behind the table.

Billing models, usage rules and production requirements can matter more than a feature count.

### What happens to unused minutes on an annual plan?

The reviewed Pro annual card still lists 2,400 transcription minutes per month. The pricing FAQ says unused monthly minutes expire when the monthly period ends. Do not multiply 2,400 by 12 and assume you can use the entire amount on one archive job. Annual payment and usage renewal are separate concepts. Speechyou’s unlimited notes avoid that published monthly minute pool, but large archives and automated workloads still need a discussion about throughput and API terms.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)[\[12\]](#source-api)

### Why is Lite not the main price comparison?

Lite is a legitimate lower-cost option at $9.99 per month with 300 minutes. Pro is compared prominently because its AI chat and summary features are closer to the workflow offered on Solo. If you only need five hours of transcription each month and do not need Pro’s AI tools, Lite may be enough. If you do want the Pro workflow, compare its $99.99 annual bill with Solo’s $67 rather than confusing annual monthly equivalents with month-to-month prices.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)

### What should an integration test include?

Transkriptor publishes APIs for URLs, local files, exports and summaries. Its integration directory also covers services such as cloud storage and collaboration tools. Speechyou API access is scoped by request, with separate terms. Before switching, test authentication, upload sources, processing status, timestamp/speaker output and error handling. An MCP connector for asking questions is not automatically a replacement for an API that starts transcription jobs.[\[3\]](#source-competitor-api)[\[5\]](#source-competitor-import)[\[4\]](#source-competitor-exports)[\[8\]](#source-competitor-summary)[\[7\]](#source-competitor-integrations)[\[12\]](#source-api)[\[16\]](#source-mcp)

Before you switch

## Your questions, answered.

### Is Speechyou cheaper than Transkriptor?

Solo is US$67 annually versus US$99.99 for Pro, a US$32.99 annual difference before tax. Monthly Solo is US$15 versus Pro at US$19.99. Transkriptor Lite is cheaper month to month at US$9.99, with a smaller 300-minute allowance and different features.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)

### Are Pro’s 2,400 minutes available all at once for the year?

The annual Pro card lists 2,400 minutes per month. The pricing FAQ describes monthly expiration of unused minutes. Annual payment should not be treated as a pooled yearly archive allowance unless Transkriptor confirms different terms for your plan.[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)

### Does Transkriptor connect to ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. It documents a ChatGPT integration using MCP and lists Claude in its integration directory. The ChatGPT app is described as read-only, with transcript, summary and account information retrieval. Speechyou also supports compatible AI clients through MCP.[\[6\]](#source-competitor-chatgpt)[\[7\]](#source-competitor-integrations)[\[16\]](#source-mcp)

### Which service should I choose on Android?

Transkriptor documents a native Android app. Speechyou’s native apps covered here are for iPhone, iPad and Mac. If an Android app is essential, that is a concrete reason to keep Transkriptor on your shortlist.[\[2\]](#source-competitor-product)[\[15\]](#source-mobile)

### Can I use either tool for batch uploads and subtitles?

Both support multiple-file transcription and subtitle output. Speechyou has SRT/VTT export and detailed segmentation controls. Transkriptor lists SRT and documents additional export controls through its API. Test a real batch and the required output format; these capabilities are not exclusive to Speechyou.[\[14\]](#source-demo)[\[1\]](#source-competitor-pricing)[\[4\]](#source-competitor-exports)

### Is Speechyou more accurate than Transkriptor?

We have not established that in a controlled product comparison. Use the same recording and language in both tools, check names, numbers and speaker changes against the audio, and measure correction time. Model research and vendor accuracy percentages are not a substitute for this test.[\[13\]](#source-whisper)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

### What does 1,700 languages mean?

It is a rounded catalog figure. The application catalog reviewed contains 1,668 language/script configurations across 1,648 distinct language codes. Multiple scripts can belong to one language. This describes coverage, not equal accuracy in every language or a count of translation directions.[\[10\]](#source-languages)[\[11\]](#source-multilingual)

### Can I try my own recording for free?

Yes. Start your three-day free trial of Speechyou Solo, then upload your audio or video. Try the transcript, Ask AI and the exports you need. Your subscription renews at the selected price unless canceled; check your chosen billing period at signup.[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)[\[14\]](#source-demo)

### Can I use Speechyou on my phone and with my AI assistant?

Speechyou is available on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Its MCP connector lets compatible AI clients search and read your notes and transcripts. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients require their own supported connector setup; availability can depend on the client and its plan.[\[15\]](#source-mobile)[\[16\]](#source-mcp)

### Can I move all my Transkriptor files to Speechyou?

Keep your original recordings and export any edited transcripts you need before leaving your existing service. Upload supported recordings to Speechyou within its plan limits. A one-click transfer of folders, edits, comments, permissions and speaker identities has not been verified. Test a few representative files before moving a library.[\[14\]](#source-demo)[\[9\]](#source-speechyou-pricing)
